8 Cozy Restaurants to Try in Loveland

Todd Sledge October 31, 2023

As the days grow shorter and the chill of autumn embraces Loveland, there’s no better way to seek solace and warmth than by cozying up in a welcoming restaurant. Loveland is home to several restaurants that provide a retreat from the brisk air, offering respite during the colder months ahead.

We’re visiting some of the coziest restaurants in Loveland, where hearty comfort food and inviting atmospheres combine to create the perfect escape from the season’s chill. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening, a gathering with friends, or just a quiet solo dining experience, these cozy restaurants promise to be your haven of comfort and warmth.

A.K.A. Kitchen

A.K.A. Kitchen is “Loveland’s local eatery with a twist.” Located in the iconic Adelita’s Mexican restaurant building alongside their in-house brewery Rock Coast Brewery, A.K.A. Kitchen aims to bring an elevated yet approachable dining experience to the community. With locally sourced food vendors and ethically sourced ingredients, their talented chefs create familiar yet unexpected dishes that satisfy every palate. They are especially known for their brunch menu (which earned them the title of the #2 Best Brunch with the Reporter Herald!), which includes their renowned bottomless mimosas. But their lunch menu is also to-die-for, featuring mouthwatering burgers, delectable sandwiches, delicious pizzas, flavorful tacos, and refreshing salads. During the colder months, cozy up in one of their booths or tables with warm lighting overhead. And once it warms up, their patio with shade umbrellas and a fire pit is the place to be!

Bai Tong

Bai Tong invites diners to join them on a delightful voyage through the world of vegan Thai flavors, experiencing the true essence of Thailand. Their team skillfully blends Thai culinary traditions with a contemporary twist, offering an atmosphere rich in cultural authenticity. Rice takes the spotlight as the heart of a Thai meal, often accompanied by a tantalizing array of up to 20 dishes, all thoughtfully crafted without the use of MSG. Your dining experience at Bai Tong is as comforting as the dishes served, as the space is filled with warm woods, authentic artwork, unique lanterns, and comfortable seating.

The Black Steer

The Black Steer is the place to go for some exceptional steak in Loveland. Their house-aged choice beef is cut daily into filets, New York Steaks, kabobs, steak sandwiches and their famous Pepper Steak. But don’t miss the rest of The Black Steer’s delicious menu, featuring seafood, salads, pastas, homemade soup, desserts and more. They have a smaller outdoor patio area in the front and some additional outdoor seating in the back, called “the Rear of the Steer.” But during the colder months, you’ll want to retreat to their cabin-esque interior with rustic wood beams, exposed brick and plush leather booths.

Door 222

Door 222 is a favorite in Loveland for a variety of reasons. For starters, the menu is crafted with extensive detail in every bite with a special focus on tapas and inventive cocktails. And in addition to providing one of the freshest, seasonal menus in the region, this locally owned spot gives back to the community. Each quarter, they donate a portion of specific menu items to local nonprofits in childhood enrichment and education, medical research, and local animal-related charities. Door 222 made it on our list for its ultra cozy ambiance, complete with moody lighting, exposed brick walls, and overall warm tones throughout.

Henry’s Pub

When they opened their doors back in 2004, the team at Henry’s Pub took the classic, cozy atmosphere of an old town pub and added urban flair with a menu of contemporary and upscale comfort food. That means you’ll find fried pickles, a bleu cheese bacon burger and fish and chips alongside P.E.I. mussels, calamari and wild game bangers and mash. Throw in bar beverages made from local distilleries (and a wide selection of local beers) and you’ll be instantly hooked. The interior is as cozy as any pub could be — a place where you’re huddled around the table with friends, or standing elbow to elbow at the bar while the game plays on the TV overhead.

Loveland Chophouse

Nestled in Historic Downtown Loveland, the Chophouse offers a delightful blend of 1930s-style charm and a welcoming ambiance. Specializing in delectable seafood and steak, this restaurant provides an upscale yet approachable menu, complete with weekly specials. With an extensive selection of wines, martinis, and locally sourced spirits like vodkas and whiskeys, including the crowd-favorite Moscow Mule, the Chophouse is a haven for enthusiasts of fine dining and libations. Reservations are encouraged, especially for larger groups, and the Roosevelt Room stands ready to host private events, be it a business meeting, seminar, or a celebration like holiday parties and rehearsal dinners. The space is charming and inviting, with historic details like original brick walls, tin ceiling tiles, and intricate woodwork. The comfortable suede booths and white table cloths make this a truly elegant dining experience.

Pourhouse

Pourhouse Bar & Grill is a popular destination known for its extensive beer selection, delicious food, and live music. Regulars and newbies alike feel right at home at Pourhouse — as the wall is lined with quirky signage and artwork, the game is always playing on TV, and whatever comfort food you want is on the menu — plus, there are 35 taps to choose from. With the longest happy hour in the city, guests can enjoy discounted drinks from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and all day on Sundays. That means you can pair your lunch with a $4.50 house wine, margarita or Bloody Mary — or get $1 off standard drafts and $4 wells. Pourhouse boasts an impressive, diverse menu featuring appetizers, burgers, pizza, sandwiches, soups, salads, and more. Their recipes are inspired by flavors from around the world, and everything, except the bread, is made in-house. The menu caters to various dietary preferences with gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as a dedicated kids menu. And if you’re there in the evening, don’t miss the live music on Fridays and Saturdays!
